🔩 How We Price CNC Machining Projects
At AR Premier, we understand that every part is unique—so our pricing is too. Instead of using fixed rates, we provide custom quotes tailored to your part, your timeline, and your priorities. Here's how our pricing works:
🧠 What Factors Into CNC Machining Costs?
We calculate pricing based on several important variables:
1. Part Complexity
Simple 2D contours or holes cost less than intricate 3D geometries.
Multi-axis work or features like threads, undercuts, or tight tolerances require more time and expertise.
2. Material Type
We work with a variety of materials, including aluminum, stainless steel, carbon steel, plastics, and more.
Exotic materials or hardened alloys increase tooling wear and setup time, which can raise the cost.
3. Quantity
We offer price breaks on higher volume runs.
Prototype (1-10 pieces) costs more per part than a production run (50–500+), due to setup and programming time.
4. Setup & Programming Time
Each job requires machine setup and CNC programming.
The first part always takes longer—after that, we scale efficiently.
5. Tolerances and Finishes
Tighter tolerances and cosmetic surface finishes (like bead blasting, anodizing, etc.) require more time and inspection.
6. Lead Time
Standard turnaround is [5] business days.
Rush jobs are possible but may come with a priority fee depending on current workload.
7. Secondary Operations
If your part needs welding, assembly, tapping, deburring, engraving, etc., those will be factored into the quote.
